I came to Lotus Lantern Festival last year held in Jongno area, near Insadong, Seoul and saw many people from all of ages, all nations (there was a lot of foreigners) were gathered and excited in this festival.

Every year, commemorating the Birth of Buddha, the festival usually held in May and it is one of grand and old event in Seoul. This year, the Lotus Lantern festival will be held on 18 – 20 May 2012.

There are many activities and booths from Korean traditional games, face drawing, exhibitions, Korean food, wedding hanbok photo booth and healty booth.  Lantern booth is one of the most  interesting part in this festival. People can make a lotus lantern by themselves guided by some tutors . I didn’t try it, just captured from my camera, but someday I must try to make my own lotus lantern ^^
