Jinju Namgang Yudeung (Lantern) Festival

Hello everyone!

If you have a plan to visit Korea on October, there is a great lantern festival located in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea that you should visit. Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival originaly from the Jinjuseong Battles in Japanese invations in October 1592. In the past times, lanterns were used not only as a military signals but they were used also for the sign from the troops to their family. in the second attack in June 1593, people began to float the lanterns on the river at Gaecheon art festival as response for peace and prosperity for homes and nations. Now this festival is still a symbol of peace and happiness. There are many activities such as street parade, fireworks, hanging the wishing lanterns, floating lanterns, exhibition and other cultural activities will be held on this festival.
